A fun little project: make key rings from left over felt :) I made the ones you see in the picture not for me but for a fundraising event organised by Friends of Cats Association. The key rings can be either sold or offered as a gift for those who donate. For those of you out there that are trying to make a difference and help the stray animals, here are some photos and instructions on how you can do this key ring for yourself.

I am absolutely in love with these cat face key chains! I have a different use for them, all though a key chain is a great idea, I am going to make them Christmas ornaments! I have been looking for years for felt cat ornaments. I have a special collection of felt ornaments given to me as a teenager. My godmother's good friend was in charge of her church's Bazaar for many years. Her tree would be covered in only felt ornaments. Each year she always put away two ornaments. She did this for at least fifteen years. She then presented a set of the ornaments to her daughter and I received the second set. She knew that having your own ornaments when you got on your own. I have always wanted to add some felt ornaments of my own. I am a freelance artist, I paint, draw, make jewelry to sell and I was a professional photographer years ago. In that time I have made many ornaments but never sewing them or in felt. I can do many crafts but sewing was always my mom's thing. I have some that she has made over the years too. At almost 90 years old, I don't think she will make anymore. I am thrilled that you put photos of each step and I can make this ornament with confidence. I always add several cat ornaments each December and in a few years I should have more than enough cat ornaments to have an all cat Xmas tree! I have always wanted to do this. With your beautiful idea I think I will reach my goal a lot sooner! Thank you so much. Merry Christmas! Leave a Reply. |
