In December 2012 I discovered crocheting. I started making dolls and I was over the moon happy with my new found hobby. Next I discovered Pinterest and Ravelry and lots of crocheting blogs. A new world opened to me, a world of creative people sharing their projects with the world. I was happy that these people decided to publish their projects online - it was so easy to learn from them the tricks of the trade. And so I decided to do the same: wrote on this blog about my hobby's and new found love for yarn. And of course, share my patterns and ideas for free. After a year I am happy to have invested my time into this blog - I received such wonderful messages from people that felt inspired by my projects and that was a reward in itself. So to all of you who dropped by and left a message, thank you! And come back again, I would love to share with you what I do :)

For me, the best craft projects are those that have no strict plan and where I can just improvise as I go. This funny fellow is the result of such a project. I loved making it. All I used was scrap fabric and felt, crocheted pieces I had lying around, two old buttons, thread for hand sewing and cotton for filling up. And some patience :)
I am so happy! The spring wreath is sold and I was able to make the first donation from my hobby to Sos Dogs and The Friends of Cats Association :) If you enjoy my work, know that I am sharing it with all of you with the hope that I can also raise awareness for the situation of street dogs and cats in Romania, and more specifically, those from my native town Oradea. Any donation or help for the two associations I support (or for that matter, for any association trying to solve the problem of street animals in Romania) is very much appreciated. Two of the crocheted dolls I've made are hairy: a sheep and a monster ;P It took me a while to figure out how to make the hair. I could not make it by sewing it in, it was too short and did not look good. Then, if a child would play with the dolls, all the yarn would come out (another no-no). After searching on the internet for solutions I found this tutorial for the loop stitch. With a bit of adaptation it was exactly what I needed to finish my toys :) One of my first projects was to make crocheted 3D letters. I was thinking that they might be a really nice present for a child: they are soft, fluffy and they can also use them to learn the alphabet. Maybe when I will have a child I will make a bunch of them and play games with the child like writing words :)) Then maybe I should also make numbers and learn him or her mathematics ^^ One more step and we can start doing some simple probabilities and statistics :D Ok, maybe that is a bit too much for a child but the idea of learning through playing it is a very good one in my opinion. Ok, so, how I made this letter. With no pattern, but just some common sense, some yarn and some cotton. It is actually very easy and does not needs a lot of crochet knowledge. See the photos bellow for how I made this letter, maybe you can find some inspiration :) I decided to use my hobby as a mean to get some money for the 2 shelters in Oradea. So I made a little shop on dawanda.com. My idea was that the money that I could get by selling them I will donate to the two organizations in Oradea that try to solve the problem of street cats and dogs (see here more info). I was not very successful until now, but I still hope :)
I love this doll! I made her using as base this pattern. As you see, I changed a lot of things about the original. But that's me, I just cant follow a pattern. Also, for me crocheting is really therapeutic, it helps me clear my head and focus only on the beautiful thing I am creating :)
The next doll I made was based on this pattern. The original pattern is very cute but I just did not had the right colors in house. So I improvised, but in the end I really like the result :)
I love cats! So I made for myself a Maneki-Neko cat using a variation of this pattern.
